Full Moon Reading

Hexagram 35 - Progress
Image - Rising Sun

Full Moon - Awareness
OVERVIEW

As we approach the longest
night, the Sage gives us a
message of potential for
progress and flourishing,
symbolized by sun rise. The
slow, even advance of the
sun teaches us how to progress.

Coming up soon is  Winter Solstice 2011
(12-22-11)
Longest night of the year, yet the sun rises

and greets the moon
to remind us that the light returns even
in the darkness of the season.
It is time to seize the moment;
yet, being human, we are
warned we must remain
vigilant regarding how we might
unconsciously undermine our efforts.
(See Four Considerations at bottom of blog)

The first glimpse of the rising sun holds out
hope after the darkest time of the year.
What glimmer of blessings is rising in your life?

What projects do you want to begin? Am I
able to receive as well as give?

As the sun rises, it gradually brings out the
features of the landscape,
and we begin to see things in a new light.
The sun as it rises
symbolizes an increase
of virtue.

However, the Sage also cautions against:

1) plowing ahead like
    a bull-dozer
2) acting out of
    self-interest
    without regard
    for others
3) forcing progress and
4) falling prey to old ways or habits.

The Sun represents virtue in this reading.
As our virtue grows our personal sun rises
ever higher.
Staying calm while progressing, increases and
assures poise which leads to success.

Choose one of the questions below

How might I unconsciously sabotage receiving
rich blessing in my life at this time?
What effect would moving forward on (name project) have?

***************

FOUR CONSIDERATIONS

The Four Points below may be impacting
your life re: progress and flourishing.
 Read each and consider...

First: Indulging in greed shuns the light
of the rising sun.
Time will deliver woe to us
if we harbor impure motives
at the expense of others while progressing..

Question: How do I unconsciously sabotage
receiving blessings in my life at this time?

Second: While we have
what it takes to advance,
if we behave inappropriately,
(i.e. plowing ahead, acting out of self-interest,
forcing progress, or falling prey to old habits)
we could succumb to scattered thinking
and/or reacting to ghosts from our pasts,
which could render us
timid and unsure of ourselves.

Question: How am I behaving inappropriately
 re the Sage's advice here?

Third: Avoid trying to be the
white-knight-in-shining-armor
who defends the Truth
for there is no need to do battle with evil,
 since Truth has the power
to prevail on its own in the end.

--Question: Where am I regarding
trusting the Truth?
Fourth: If our ego searches for
glory, comfort, or
a reason to exist––raison d'etre––we
can be easily duped.
If we seek to abandon our goals
out of fear, we lose the balance
and poise to follow the Way or the Tao.

Hidden Possibility

Flourishing, progressing, and brightening
contain the hidden possibility of
re-imaging your difficulties––by
 seeing things differently we possess
the power to impact our reality in a positive way.

New Moon Reading

Hexagram 64 - Not Yet Fording
Before Completion

Before Completion is
a time when the task
is nothing less than
that of leading the
world out of confusion
from disorder to order.
This shift has been
prepared for and
holds a promise
of uniting all the
chaotic forces into unity.

The empowered person on the verge of an important change or significant effort, observes a mature fox making her way over a frozen lake. He notes her expert caution and dedication as she tries each step, listening to the sounds of the ice before making her next footfall. We would do well to mimic her cunning ways.

The immature fox tends to leap into action ahead of time and ends up compromised by getting her tail drenched, or worse, getting completely doused in freezing water which could result in severe consequences or even death. And there would be nothing that could be done about it.

Remember the vixen: plan, wait, observe, and grow stronger while holding back curbing until it is time to act.  In this way the crossing can be made successfully and in balance.

QUESTIONS
1) How am I progressing regarding
the shift?
2) How can I help in the task
of creating Unity?

THREE CONSIDERATIONS
First Consideration of Three
The Sage repeates himself: it is not yet time to act. But this does not mean we merely wait idly. We are counseled to build our inner strength to enable  us to move ahead when the time comes. We prepared our vehicles last week (see last post), but we must put on the brakes on our inner strength. At the same time we must keep alert and not lose sight of our task. Although difficult to enforce, this waiting time calls for great patience. Only in this way, does all end well.

Second of Three Considerations
This transition must be completed. [Remember, we are fighting for nothing less than actual peace and unity on this planet. And Winter Solstice 2012 is fast approaching. This is it. Bottom line.] We must be strong in resolve, silence all misgivings, and engage in fierce battle with the forces of decadence. As a reward, we are promised power and eternal mastery for the future.

Third of Three Cosiderations
Awaiting the dawning of this new era, which is hard on the threshold, is best spent gathering with friends in mutual trust and warmth while awaiting the proverbial stroke of midnight. We are cautioned to stay in balance and not to celebrate in drunkeness. In doing so, we forfeit the promise held here through intemperance. True joy does not unhinge us, but instead is deep, pervasive, lasting and powerful..

Hexagram 14 ~~ Possession in Great Measure

             Overview

     Possession means any
improvement in attitude or
circumstances. When we are
poised, self-controlled, and
inner-dependent (relying on
our inner power, not outer),
we then unconsciously manifest and share
the limitless Abundance of the Higher Power.

Implications for today: Abundance lies at the heart of the Occupy Wall Street movement. The 1 % with unbalanced abundance are not sharing, nor are they creating from inner-dependence.

QUESTIONS
1) How can I improve my ability to
increase abundance
in a balanced way?
2) What in my life is blocking abundance?

3) How is my ego getting in
the way of my abundance?

 Three Important Considerations

  On Possession in Great Measure

 FIRST CONSIDERATION

We must have an outer vehicle (wagon) to load material goods.
We also have an inner one which offers inspired ideas that can
convey our inner feelings and desires. Avoid ego and make a
balanced plan and dedicate yourself to the Spirit of Heavan
if you want lasting success.

Examples  of how the ego can
wreck our efforts.

Which one(s) do you identify with?

Pushing too Hard / Going too Fast
Anxiety and Anger

Drowning  / Watered-down Effort

  Greed

Over Shooting / Over Ambitious

Stuck in the past results
 in outdated equipment and/or
ways of doing things

Over-sized ego

Overestimating our Means and/or Abilities

Rushing Home to Get Dinner On
Multi-Tasking (look closely)

                              What does success look like?

Ahhh, now that's more like it.

 **************************

Second Consideration
Know that possessions in great measure  must be placed at the disposal of the people at large. This is the right attitude toward material goods, because private property can not endure. A wealth, petty, or greedy person is incapable of this.

Andrew Carnegie understood this principle. A poor Scottish immigrant
considered the second richest man after Rockefeller.
Yet, with his fortune he turned to philanthropy exhibiting the
heart of this lesson..
Andrew Carnegie
He donated most of his money––not a mere 10% tithe––to
established libraries, schools, and universities
in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and other countries.
Heaven has no national bounds.

Third Consideration

This is the birth of a new destiny.

In the fullness of possession at the
height of our power, we must remember to give
honor to the Sage or our higher power.

This places us in the correct position to be
protecrted by Heaven.

What more can be said?
An ego-less offering.

SUMMARY*
Outer/Inner Balance
Great force concentrates within, spreading brightness
and warmth in the outer world. This is a time of
great abundance.
HIdden Potential
Clear and decisive action
Ideal and Shadow
Think of this as a time to retire from usual
thoughts and actions.
What you need is hidden within.
